Who We Are

Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Holyoke, Massachusetts, founded in 1976 by Sister Elizabeth Oleksak, SP. For 50 years, Genesis has been a place where body, mind, and spirit are renewed, and where care for Earth is woven into daily life. We offer retreats, spiritual and wholeness programs, ecology experiences, and creative opportunities for individuals and groups, alongside meetings and events held in a contemplative setting. Our Providence Arboretum—free and open to the public seven days a week—provides walking paths, mature trees, and quiet spaces where people can reconnect with creation.

We serve a wide range of guests: individuals seeking spiritually nourishing programs, local support groups needing a trusted space, college and high school students engaging in ecology and arts experiences, caregivers and health professionals needing rest, and community and corporate groups seeking a reflective environment for their gatherings. All of this is offered within a framework that strives to keep costs accessible, thanks to the generosity of the Sisters of Providence and friends like you.
