Legacy & Planned Giving

Leave a Legacy of Hope, Healing, and Hospitality

Genesis Spiritual Life & Conference Center exists today because of generations of individuals who believed in the transformative power of prayer, contemplation, hospitality, learning, healing, and spiritual renewal. Their generosity has helped create a sacred place where people of all faiths can encounter God’s presence, deepen their spiritual lives, experience healing, and discover hope.

When you make a planned gift to Genesis, you become part of that living legacy.

A legacy gift is more than a financial contribution. It is a lasting expression of your values and your commitment to ensuring that this ministry remains available to future generations. Through your generosity, others will continue to find a place of welcome, rest, reflection, prayer, and renewal.

Just as our Sustaining Members provide faithful support throughout the year, those who remember Genesis in their estate plans become part of the larger Genesis family. Your legacy becomes woven into the ongoing story of Genesis and the countless lives touched by this ministry.

The gift you leave today may help provide tomorrow’s retreat experience, scholarship assistance, spiritual program, guest room, prayer space, or life-changing moment of healing and transformation.

Why Consider a Planned Gift?

Planned giving allows you to support a ministry you love while potentially complementing your broader financial, retirement, and estate planning goals.

Depending on the type of gift and your personal circumstances, planned giving may offer opportunities to:

  • Create a lasting charitable legacy
  • Support a mission that reflects your values and faith
  • Make a significant future gift without affecting current finances
  • Share appreciated assets in a tax-efficient manner
  • Potentially reduce income, estate, or capital gains taxes
  • Help ensure the long-term stability of Genesis

Perhaps most importantly, a planned gift allows your commitment to hope, healing, hospitality, and spiritual renewal to continue blessing others long into the future.

Because every individual’s circumstances are unique, Genesis strongly encourages all donors to consult with their attorney, financial advisor, tax professional, or estate planning specialist before making any charitable gift decision.

Information for Professional Advisors

If you are considering a planned gift, please share the following information with your professional advisors:

Legal Name:
Genesis Spiritual Life & Conference Center, Inc.

Address:
53 Mill Street
Westfield, MA 01085

Federal Tax Identification Number (EIN):

Bequests Through a Will or Trust

One of the easiest and most common ways to support Genesis is through a bequest in your will or living trust.

You may choose to leave:

  • A specific dollar amount
  • A percentage of your estate
  • A particular asset
  • The remainder of your estate after other obligations have been fulfilled

A bequest allows you to retain full control of your assets during your lifetime while creating a meaningful future gift.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

Individuals who meet IRS eligibility requirements may be able to make charitable gifts directly from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).

Potential benefits may include:

  • Supporting Genesis through retirement assets
  • Satisfying Required Minimum Distribution obligations when permitted by law
  • Simplifying charitable giving from retirement accounts

Because tax laws and individual circumstances vary, please consult your financial or tax advisor regarding eligibility and potential benefits.

Gifts of Stocks, Bonds, and Securities

Appreciated securities can be a meaningful way to support Genesis.

For some donors, gifts of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds may provide advantages when compared with selling those assets and donating the proceeds.

Potential benefits may include:

  • Avoiding capital gains taxes on appreciated assets
  • Receiving a charitable deduction where permitted by law
  • Making a larger charitable gift than might otherwise be possible

Please contact Genesis for current transfer instructions before initiating a transfer.

Retirement Account Beneficiary Designations

You may choose to name Genesis Spiritual Life & Conference Center as a beneficiary of:

  • Traditional IRA accounts
  • Roth IRA accounts
  • 401(k) plans
  • 403(b) plans
  • Other qualified retirement plans

Because retirement assets can sometimes be heavily taxed when inherited by individuals, some donors find charitable beneficiary designations to be an effective component of their overall estate planning strategy.

Your financial institution or plan administrator can assist with updating beneficiary forms.

Gifts of Life Insurance

Life insurance can provide another opportunity to create a meaningful charitable legacy.

Options may include:

  • Naming Genesis as a beneficiary of a policy
  • Naming Genesis as a contingent beneficiary
  • Donating ownership of a paid-up policy

Your insurance professional can help determine whether a life insurance gift may be appropriate for your situation.

Cash Gifts

Outright cash gifts remain one of the most effective ways to support the mission of Genesis.

Cash gifts may be made through:

  • Online donations
  • Checks
  • Recurring monthly contributions
  • Special appeals and campaigns

The Genesis Legacy Society

Friends who choose to include Genesis in their estate or long-term charitable plans are invited to become members of the Genesis Legacy Society.

Membership is open to anyone who has informed Genesis of a planned or estate gift intention, regardless of the gift’s size.

The purpose of the Genesis Legacy Society is simple:

  • To honor and thank those who have made a legacy commitment
  • To celebrate the future of Genesis
  • To inspire others to consider their own legacy of generosity

Notification of a planned gift is entirely voluntary and creates no legal obligation. All information shared with Genesis will be treated with respect and confidentiality.

Have You Already Included Genesis in Your Plans?

If you have already named Genesis Spiritual Life & Conference Center in your estate plans, retirement account, insurance policy, or other charitable arrangements, we would be grateful to know of your intentions.

Sharing this information allows us to:

  • Express our gratitude during your lifetime
  • Welcome you into the Genesis Legacy Society
  • Better prepare for the responsible stewardship of future gifts

We understand that some donors prefer to keep gift arrangements private and fully respect those wishes.

Thank You

Every planned gift, regardless of size, is a quiet “yes” to the future of Genesis.

Your generosity helps ensure that this ministry will continue offering hope, healing, hospitality, prayer, learning, and spiritual renewal for generations to come.

Thank you for helping keep Genesis a sacred place of welcome where all are invited to encounter peace, deepen their spiritual lives, and discover the presence of the Divine.
