Position Summary:
Genesis is seeking a dependable and flexible Retreat Center Cook to join our hospitality team. The cook will prepare and serve meals from a set menu of recipes, while also assisting with meal service, kitchen setup, and clean-up. The ideal candidate will bring a spirit of teamwork, reliability, and care to support the Center’s nourishing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and supper according to established menus and recipes.
• Ensure quality, presentation, and portion consistency of all meals.
• Pay attention to and accommodate specific guest dietary needs and restrictions as communicated.
• Assist with meal service, including setting up, serving, and clearing dishes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining area.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and storage guidelines.
• Collaborate with the hospitality team to support retreat and event meal schedules.
• Adapt to schedule needs, including weekends and occasional evenings.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a hospitality or institutional setting.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
• Flexible schedule with willingness to work at least every other weekend.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Commitment to creating a welcoming, hospitable experience for guests.
