We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Joseph Krans as the new Executive Director of Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center. Joseph brings a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to faith-based service, and a profound sense of calling to this important role.
Joseph has spent over forty years in technical and management roles within the corporate world. However, his heart and calling have always been towards engagement in spiritual endeavors. This led him to complete the Spiritual Direction Internship program with the Spiritual Life Center in Hartford, CT. His journey has clarified that his ministry lies in accompaniment, teaching, presence, inclusion, and contemplative practices.
As he transitions from his corporate career to a vocation of faith-based service, Joseph seeks to apply his extensive background and experience to a cause where he can further his lifelong commitment to service, faith, care for creation, and education. He aims to leave a lasting impact at Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center.
Joseph’s leadership experience is vast and varied. Throughout his career, he has excelled in leadership, communications, planning, coordination, human resources, and operations management. As a professed Secular Franciscan, he has served in numerous faith-based roles, including Youth Ministry Coordinator for over 10 years, leading summer mission trips, and teaching faith formation for both youth and adults. He is currently the Minister for his local Secular Franciscan Fraternity and the Vice-Minister for the Blessed Solanus Casey Regional Fraternity.
Additionally, Joseph has been actively involved with the non-profit organization Kids in the Congo, contributing to marketing, social media, website design, finances, and fundraising activities. In 2022, he helped launch a summer mission trip program for middle school youth called Church in Action.
The Executive Director role at Genesis emphasizes Catholic-based leadership in hospitality, compassion, and eco-spirituality. Joseph’s vision aligns perfectly with the spiritual tradition and charism of the Sisters of Providence and Genesis. He is eager to help solidify and enhance the culture at Genesis, drawing from his rich spiritual trajectory and extensive business experience.
