Missionaries of Peace: Cultivating Skills for Nonviolent Communication

Saturday, February 24, 2024 – 9:30am-3:30pm

“Since creation is ongoing, each person has the capacity for awakening and healing, which can impact all levels of our global community.” (Genesis core beliefs)

This workshop teaches ways to build skills for peaceful living within our families, communities and the larger world. Responding to Jesus’ call to be peacemakers, we will look at ways to significantly improve our relationships with family, friends, co-workers and strangers. Building on our own compassion we will learn how to overcome barriers that prevent us from living and working harmoniously with those around us. Working from Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and Marshall Rosenberg’s work on nonviolent communication we will look more fully at what it means to be missionaries of peace.

Those who serve others in pastoral ministries, health care, human services, education and the arts will find this workshop particularly helpful.
