Michele is a Recreational Therapist and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Fine Arts. She currently works in a Long-Term Care facility and is passionate about serving Veterans who have Dementia/Alzheimer’s, with honor and dignity.
She is involved in women’s retreats and bible studies, a Eucharist Minister, Lector, and Homebound Minister. Michele has been married for 29 years, and has two adult children and one furry friend named Jax.
Taking time to unplug from this world, getting focused, and getting real helps Michele accept her call to Discipleship, living by faith in Christ, walking in the Holy Spirit, and resting in God’s Grace.
Inspired by “The Walk to Emmaus” story in the Gospel of Luke, she feels called to help people rediscover Christ’s presence in their lives, to gain fresh understanding of God’s transforming grace and to form friendships that foster faith and support spiritual maturity.

She takes care of her adult disabled sister and walks alone side her sister and children through joys and challenges of life. Balancing time with others and time alone helps her to find her rhythm in this journey we call life. As a Spiritual Director, Valenda is committed to honoring each person through attentive listening and conversation. She enjoys encouraging women to deepening their relationship with God through bible stories, reflection, conversation, and journaling while supporting each person where they are on their life journey.
